Group Sommelier (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining high quality service and product levels, as well as sourcing new products and training staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for supervising wines and beverages serving in various restaurant / bar under the group with professional knowledge
• Delight our guests by providing recommendations on varieties of wines and beverages as well as to ensure and enhance their satisfaction
• Work closely with Restaurant Manager and Head Chef on menu wine pairing and wine lists planning
• Maintain accurate wine sales records and control stock levels for the group
• Maintain high standards and professional services in serving guests
• Provide training for front-line staffs including but not limited to products knowledge, sales techniques and service skills
• Deal with ad hoc duties as assigned

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Degree / diploma in food and beverage, hotel or hospitality management or related disciplines is preferred
• Minimum 3 years relevant working experience in food and beverage or hospitality industry (experience in fine dining restaurants is an advantage)
• WSET Level 3 or equivalent certificate
• Possess in-depth and extensive knowledge of wines, spirits, sake and etc.
• Self-motivated, aggressive and has a strong sense of responsibility
• Strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills with guest service orientated attitude
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Cantonese
