Senior Fine Wine Buyer / Trader

Position
Cru are recruiting for Senior Fine Wine Buyer / Trader for their Hong Kong branch located in Wan Chai.
The initial role’s day to day responsibilities:
- Meeting, negotiating parcels of wine with local suppliers
- Liaising with overseas suppliers in the UK and Europe to negotiate deals on parcels of wine
- Working with the sales team to push daily offers
- Developing a customer base on selling wine
- Developing business both by meeting with potential new suppliers and customers
- Helping on wine education to customers and the existing sales team
- Facilitating wine events to customers, presenting about the wine
- Advising on customers wine portfolios on when to buy and sell
- Strongly liaising with other Cru departments such as accounting, marketing as well as the other Cru branches. e.g. the UK.
Skills required:
The applicant must be of senior nature with over 5 years experience in the wine industry. Skills required are:
- 5 years of experience in the wine industry
- Strong wine knowledge. Must be WSET Level 3 Advanced or higher.
- A network of suppliers in the industry to work with
- Fluent in English, both speaking, reading and writing
- High Attention to detail
- Ability to work as independently as well as part of a team
The working hours are Monday – Friday, 9:30 – 6:00pm.
