About our client

Our client is a prestigious club that provides members with an all-rounded experience with fine wine.

They are looking for a Wine Advisor with consultancy background and experience handling high net-worth individuals, preferably a French speaking talent, based in Hong Kong to sell wine and spirits to existing members, as well as to acquire new members.

Job Descriptions

In relation to existing Members

  • Increase the collective knowledge of existing Members in order to better cater for their needs and desires, especially by better defining and updating the wine profile of each Member (using their proprietary CRM system)
  • Build tailor-made offers to Members with merchandising (purchasing) team (based on their needs, preferences, and wine profile), present them to the Members, and execute and close them
  • Promote to Members the latest Club-wide offers
  • Target and plan for a minimum annual purchase for wine purchases / Member

In relation to new Members

  • Expand and reinforce the customer base by identifying and recruiting potential members by developing the referral power of existing Members, closely with management
  • Ensure compliance with the joining conditions of the membership, in particular the so called KYC ('know-your-client') and financial requirements

In relation to all Members

  • Deliver 'the dream' to all Members within any communication or meeting with the Members
  • In coordination with the Events department and management, coordinate, assist and supervise the successful execution and completion of the Events programme (calendar, dinner organization, wines list, sommeliers briefing, venue selection, etc.). This role encompasses the implementation and promotion of the tasting events programme
  • Collaborate with the relevant department and Member Services Manager (MSM) team to organise both tailor-made tasting dinners and vineyard trips (upon Member's request)
  • Coordinate the administrative follow-up (orders, invoicing, payment, recovery, membership renewal, etc.) by working closely with the MSM team
  • Ensure proper coordination of the delivery of wines to Members by working closely with the Logistics department and the MSM team
  • Take care of existing Members from various other chapters travelling to your country, in conjunction with their advisor, facilitate inter-Chapters meetings among Members
  • Devise annual objectives and targets with management and review them regularly
  • Report progress regularly to management, in particular by using the tools designed for such purposes by management

Requirements

  • A minimum 3 years of experience in private sales in the fine wine industry
  • Eligible to work in Hong Kong with occasional travel expected, in particular to Taiwan, Mainland China and South Korea and also to Singapore and / or France for both internal and external events, seminars or meetings
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with empathy, humility, a strong ability to educate and command attention, an ability to share your passion for wine and French culture
  • Proficiency with communication and reporting software tools, excellent rigor and organizational skills
  • An entrepreneurial / proactive and flexible attitude, perseverance, commercial instinct, a proven ability to 'close'
  • A passion and expertise in wine
  • A proven experience to cover high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and work in a multicultural and multi-site working environment
  • Native level English, fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and spoken French is an advantage
