We are looking for an Area Sommelier based at Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong!

As an Area Sommelier, we rely on you to

Responsible for Shangri-La wine programs and all wine related sales, promotions and marketing campaigns for HK region in order to achieve the sales targets

Manage Shangri-La En Primeur wine sales via on property retail sales & online retail sales, work closely with Group F&B, e-Shop & COE marketing to ensure revenue targets/budgets for retail sales are achieved

Work closely with Regional Procurement & Group F&B on regional / group wine contracts

Responsible for awards & media recognitions of the Hong Kong outlets wine program

Lead the Sommelier team to maintain superb service for guests and establish the performance measurements for the hotel sommeliers such as revenue targets, database of wine lovers, quality training and finally overall wine service quality

Constantly obtaining customer feedback during operation to ensure great satisfaction

Ensure effective communication within F&B and actively work with F&B marketing to update relevant social media channels to drive interest and awareness

Assist Hong Kong properties as it relates to staffing, task force development and analysis to improve financial and service matrix

Conduct on-site training and create a master wine training document integrating requirements from WSET and Court of Master Sommeliers for the team's sustainable development

We are looking for someone who has

Diploma / Degree in Food & Beverage, Wine Study, Hospitality Management or related disciplines with attaining related wine certifications or equivalent to Master Sommelier level

A minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience in 5-star luxury hotels; with at least 2 years experience as a Head Sommelier managing the wine portfolio independently

Sound knowledge of international wines and vintage merits with detailed understanding of the components and procurement management

Excellent command of both spoken and written English

Well versed with both internet and computer applications

Innovative, profit-driven and strong business acumen
