ABOUT US
Tenute del Mondo (TDM) is an ultra-premium wine group which crafts globally renowned wines. We have wineries in Argentina (Achaval Ferrer) and Spain (Propriedad de Arínzano) and are looking to grow this portfolio.
We make extraordinary wines from extraordinary terroirs, and our global commercial team brings them to more than 80 markets around the world. We have a thriving hospitality business in each winery and offer Direct-To-Consumer sales for members of our exclusive wine clubs.
We have an exciting growth plan ahead of us and are looking for someone to take control of our APAC business, building a platform for explosive growth over the next 5-10 years.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Export Manager is responsible for developing and managing our business within the APAC region. Working with the winery team and marketing team, you will manage all aspects of our relationships with distributors in all markets in the APAC region to deliver the company’s sales mission.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
MARKETS
- Complete commercial responsibility for all Asia Pacific markets
- Key focus markets: China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, South Korea and Australia
DISTRIBUTOR SELECTION AND MANAGEMENT
- Regularly assess our distributor relationships to ensure we have the best distributor in each market for each brand
- select and appoint new distributors where needed
- Ensure that TDM wines are key brands for all distributors in key markets
- Develop and implement annual commercial and brand plans across all markets including pricing, A&P investment, free stock and all marketing support
- Manage A&P spend vs agreed budget by market
- Work with distributors to deliver the sales mission each year
COMMERCIAL PLANNING
- Develop annual brand plans for each distributor and key market
- Work with our marketing team to ensure key distributors deliver targeted marketing programmes
- Work with key clients in market where appropriate to build tailored activation plans
WINERY REPRESENTATION
- Represent our wineries and brands at international and local wine fairs and events
- onduct tastings with key customers
- Conduct training sessions with distributors and customers in person or online when appropriate
KPIs:
1. Deliver the annual sales mission and targeted sales mix
2. Develop partnership relationships with distributors in key focus markets
3. Ensure accurate reporting of progress vs plan
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
1. Based in APAC, ideally in one of our key focus markets
2. 10+ years’ experience in the drinks trade
3. 5+ years’ APAC export sales experience in a premium wine company, and a deep understanding of Asian culture and the Asian wine market including private client sales, premium on trade and specialist off trade / ecommerce
4. Deep knowledge of the Asian Pacific markets, with particular focus on China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, South Korea and Australia
5. Passionate about wine, with wine knowledge to at least WSET level 3.
6. Strong network of relationships with distributors and key customers in our focus markets
7. Highly organized
8. Strong commercial acumen and exceptional negotiation skills
9. Exceptional presentation skills
10. Highly motivated and autonomous
