Country Manager Taiwan (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Taiwan is a huge opportunity and in this role you will be in charge of nurturing our current business while unlocking growth through better route to consumer and growth in our premium brands.

You will be responsible for the delivery of the Taiwan budget and delivering against strategic objectives.

Key accountabilities include

  • Develop and manage key relationships with retailers and distributors to deliver against joint commitments and drive base and over and above sales results.
  • Manage the annual promotional calendars with retailers ensuring promotional frequency and price.
  • Co-ordinate purchase orders, vessel bookings and logistics for key retailers.
  • Implement programs with retailers developed from both internal marketing objectives, and in-store needs identified by insights and analysis.
  • Agree joined up business plans with retailers and distributors to deliver mutually agreed sales forecasts in line with budget.
  • Develop and grow a national Taiwan wholesale network with our local partners to ensure nationwide distribution of our brands.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with all customers.
  • Actively generate sales opportunities, and ensure expenses are in line with budgeted requirements.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, bringing in field and account insights to the table fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Activate Accolade Wines key brands in market – Hardys, Grant Burge, Banrock Station, Mud House, St Hallett.
  • Maintains business reporting in line with agreed deadlines including: demand planning, marketing spend, shipment forecast, customer depletion data.
  • Oversee P&L for Taiwan.
  • Manage annual and monthly forecast for Taiwan key retailers and distributors. 
  • Work with the Trade Marketing Manager to implement a promotional calendar with our partners and ensure stock and timing for instore demos. 

Other accountabilities include

Financial – Deliver volume targets within Taiwan. Implement programs with key distributors to drive volume and sales rate per case by managing range and mix. Accurately forecast and work with the retailers/distributors/wholesalers to ensure the balance between stock on hand is met whilst avoiding out of stocks. 

Customer – Execute all activities and initiatives agreed with key customers within the region, including duty free. Maintain solid relationships with key customers, and prepare and present results of initiatives to customers in direct meetings. Develop and implement joint business plans with key distributors. Work with local distributors to service both the on and off premise segment. 

Internal – Translate brand property from our marketing teams globally into activations in Asia in conjunction with the Asian sales team

Be a visible presence in the Asian markets across a series of functions, using the I.T. facilities at our disposal to ensure face time is maximised.

Required experience is

  • Wine knowledge & passion.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in liquor (wine preference ) with at least 2 of these years in sales in key account management.
  • Demonstrable understanding in account planning and channel sales.
  • Prior experience of Taiwan wholesalers is a plus.

Essential qualifications are

  • University degree in business, marketing or related discipline preferred but not essential.
