About Our Client

Our client is a U.K. listed renowned international company with operations across the globe. One of the market leaders within the industry, they are now looking for a talented Retail Wine Manager to join their established and growing team in Hong Kong. Senior candidates will be considered for a Deputy Director position.

Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Asia, the selected candidate will be tasked to drive the wine business P&L in Hong Kong and manage the Retail Wine team. In addition, you will be:

• Managing the retail store, overseeing a team of 3 to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals; maintaining strong service levels and up to date client database
• Representing the retail business both internally and externally; overseeing the inventory and working closely with the buying team to ensure correct inventory is sourced
• Provide inventory recommendations and wine expertise through deep understanding of existing wine portfolio and demonstrate a strong knowledge of wine internally and externally to clients
• Working with inter-departments on annual campaigns and retail marketing plans
• Act as an Ambassador for the company's wine division, promoting the retail business through social networking, events, exhibitions and functions

The Successful Applicant

• Degree in business or equivalent
• WSET qualified, min. Level 3
• Min. 10 years relevant experience, with 5 years’ experience in team management
• Strong knowledge for wine, with a general understanding of classic regions / investment grade wines; strong passion for the industry
• Track record in sales management, overseeing full sales processes
• Demonstrate passion and enthusiasm in leading teams and excelling in the wine industry
• Personable, pro-active and outgoing with excellent communication skills
