Financial Controller (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

Summary of Role:

The Finance Controller (“FC”) will be responsible for the finance functions and internal controls of Flying Winemaker Holdings Limited and it’s subsidiaries. The FC will also have the opportunity to be involved in strategic planning for annual wine production, events, digital media and online sales. The FC is expected to demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit, to support and encourage the team, and to provide best-practice experience within the finance function and to wider business issues, as appropriate.


Finance Function

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the finance function, ensuring the function is organized, efficient and produces accurate financial and management accounts
  • Preparation of budgets, forecasts and cashflow analysis and ageing report (payables and receivables)
  • Keep up-to-date financial ledgers, accounting data, and clear & transparent processes
  • Review of month end management accounts
  • Preparation of annual audits and in liaison with external auditors
  • Cash management and treasury duties
  • Ensure appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained
  • Oversee the payroll process

Business Planning and Analysis and Pricing

  • Financial modeling and analysis for businesses and provide support to the fund raising process
  • Business analysis reporting against history performance, budget and forecasts
  • Monitor and track profitability and propose ways to maximize profitability through cost analysis and improvement
  • Provide financial rationale and information to management in support of the pricing process

Inventory Control

  • Perform regular stock taking and investigate on stock discrepancy and operation irregularities
  • Set up and implement operation processes to enhance operating efficiency, inventory accuracy and internal control
  • Formulate and improve existing manuals, workflows and processes for operations


  • Degree or higher in corporate finance and/or accounting


  • Min 5 years professional experience in both large and SME type business
  • Hong Kong and/or Australia tax and account practices an advantage
  • Manufacturing, e-commerce, professional services and wine industry experience an advantage
  • Experience in preparing investor relations documents
  • Providing strategic financial planning advice for executives and CEO
  • Management of customer accounts, payables and receivables
  • Xero accounting software
  • Fast pace, entrepreneurial environments and able to think quickly for solution


  • Excellent command in English and Cantonese (written and spoken), Mandarin bonus
  • Ability to collaborate with a small team whilst managing to complete core duties at the highest level
  • Organized and diligent person who is presentable and prompt in completing tasks.

Key Performance Indicators:
Targets and KPIs will be discussed and agreed with the successful hire within the first two weeks’ of start date.
