We are currently seeking a highly motivated person with great wine knowledge to work in our retail and tasting showroom in Central. This candidate should be a service oriented, enthusiastic wine lover, highly organized, outgoing, and wanting to share your wine knowledge with our loyal customers both in a retail setting and by hosting regular wine tastings. You will be working with a strong team and with some of the world’s greatest wines. The position offers a great working environment, normal working hours (11-7pm) and an a very competitive salary.
Job responsibilities:
- Manage G+C fine wine showroom in Central
- Drive in store sales by providing exceptional service and knowledge to our new and existing customer base
- Host wine tastings and in-shop events with assistance of marketing and sales team
- Assist with private events and functions onsite and offsite events (Wine and Dine etc…)
- Merchandising - Ensure wine displays & marketing materials are organized for wines, shelving, & customer take away
- Liaise with sales and marketing team to keep the retail product mix exciting and up to date
- Assist with online orders
- Tuesday – Saturday workweek
Requirements:
- Min 4 years’ experience in the wine trade or as a senior Sommelier.
- Fluency and passion for fine and rare wines is essential.
- Good command of written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Putonghua
- Proficient in PC skill of Microsoft office: Word, Excel, Outlook & Chinese word processing (traditional or simplified)
- Detail oriented, honest, good working attitude and a team player
- Hard-working, self-confident, self-motivated, responsible and willing to learn
- Short notice or immediate available is preferred.
- WSET Level 3 or above an asset.
